If you smell gas outdoors / outside your house:

  • ​Call us on 0800 802 332, your retailer, or the Emergency Services on 111.
  • ​Stop anyone from entering the building.
  • Turn off all plant and machinery if it is safe to do so.
  • Extinguish any naked flames and stop anyone from smoking in the area.
  • Close windows and doors to prevent gas from entering any buildings.
  • ​Do not attempt to repair or stop the leak.

Firstgas response 

When a gas leak or other emergency has been reported, a qualified Firstgas Technician will be assigned to attend to the situation. We aim to attend all emergency call-outs within one hour of receiving a report ‒in many instances the response will be much quicker.
